A Beret is a soft round cap often worn by military forces, police units or the sensibly chic.
Berets were originally worn by the Northern Basque peasants in Southern France and first used as a military headdress by the French Chasseurs alpsin in the early 1880s.
When properly worn the Beret should fit snugly around the head and is commonly pushed to one side. Make a fasion statement with your jet set Parisian or give your impressionist artist some style.
