About the M1A1 75mm Howitzer + Nebelwerfer – Classic Battle Pack:

Expand your collection with this updated classic battle pack featuring 2x custom minifigs and 2x custom building sets! This pack includes 1x M1A1 75mm Howitzer building kit with a WWII US soldier custom minifig as well as 1x Nebelwerfer building kit with WWII Heer soldier custom minifig. A great set for those looking to expand their armies or give the gift of Brickmania for any occasion!

The Nebelwerfer

The Nebelwerfer, which means “smoke thrower”, was a rocket launcher used by the Nebeltruppen. The launcher was portable and had a range of 6,900 metres (7,500 yd). Its six barrels could be fired simultaneously. The Nebeltruppen functioned like the US Army's Chemical Corps, using launchers to throw smoke, poison gas, and explosive weapons into enemy territory. Almost five and a half million 15 cm rockets and six thousand launchers were manufactured over the course of the war. The Allied soldiers in Sicily named the gun the “Screaming Mimi”, referencing the loud scream-like quality of the incoming artillery.

The M1A1 75mm Howitzer

Designed for quick movement, the M1A1 75mm Howitzer could be broken down into several pieces to enable ease of transport by simple wheeled carriages or pack animals when traveling over rough terrain. As period artillery was difficult and heavy to move, the M1A1 75mm Howitzer's mobility meant it could be deployed in operations where heavier artillery was impossible to use, namely amphibious and airborne missions. It was even deployed with British gliders during Operation Market Garden in 1944.
