During the Battle of Britain, a mere 19 RAF Spitfire squadrons held off the numerically superior German Luftwaffe for three and a half months in what ultimately resulted in a British victory and a major turning point in the war. Serving a key role in the island's defense was the Spitfire Mk.II – WWII British Fighter Aircraft. Upgrades from the Spitfire Mk.I to the Mk.II included a new engine, increased horsepower, larger propeller, and better electronics among others.
