About the SAS Desert Raider - WWII British 1/4 Ton 4x4:

The SAS (Special Air Service) was an unconventional fighting force of Great Britain that used hit and run tactics to disrupt enemy formations and destroy enemy equipment. The SAS was born in the desert sands of North Africa during World War Two and remains one of the world most legendary special operations units to this day. Using tactics pioneered by the earlier Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), the SAS favored high speed, mobility, stealth, and massive firepower to deliver surprise attacks and then disappear quietly into the night. Their primary vehicle used for these daring missions was the ubiquitous American General Purpose Light Utility Vehicle (aka "JEEP"). Heavily modified for desert use, these light vehicles were better suited for cross desert travel, due to their four-wheel drive and light weight; traveling with ease over terrain that would have halted the heavier trucks used by the LRDG. The SAS. were an unconventional unit in many ways, often scavenging and repurposing weapons and equipment and modifying to their own purposes. 

The new rendition of the SAS Desert Raider is a completely new design, ideally capturing the look of the vehicle, using the latest parts and techniques. Included is a pair of Double Vickers K Machine guns and M1919 .340 caliber Machine Gun BrickArms. Also included are two all-new SAS crewmen, with custom 3D printed headgear from Brickmania. 

We're counting down until Brickmania kit designer Andreas Eggen starts his new job working for Big Brick.  In the meantime, enjoy his total rebuild of the SAS Desert Raider, which even includes a minifig of the kit designer himself!
