About the Bell® UH-1Y Venom – Medium Utility Helicopter:

One of the newest members of the famous Huey family of helicopters, the UH-1 Y Venom is a medium utility helicopter used by the U.S. Marines. Known as the ‘Super Huey,’ the UH-1 Y entered service in 2008 and became the Marines’ standard utility helicopter in 2014. This versatile twin-engine helicopter is designed for a range of missions, including troop transport, logistics, medical evacuation, and close air support. It has been deployed in combat in Afghanistan and Libya, where it provided vital air support for ground troops.

The UH-1 Y operates in diverse environments, high-altitudes, and austere conditions. It features a fully integrated glass cockpit, advanced avionics, and increased range; and its twin engines provide safety and reliability while its redesigned rotors and tail provide durability and maneuverability. The helicopter's agility and endurance make it a valuable asset in combat, humanitarian, and rescue operations. It performs both attack and transport roles, with a capacity of eight Marines and an armament including a wide range of machine guns and rockets. The UH-1Y Venom’s adaptability and enhanced technology make it a crucial military asset, continuing the legacy of the UH-1 series.
